Dazed and Confused


Sometimes you read and hear the strangest things.  Here are four phrases that add nothing to the ads that contained them.

Back to school furniture sale (I wonder if the Betty Ford Clinic has a program for “Sale” Addiction?)

Lowest prices in the world!  Save 15%! (I wonder if they’ve factored in the currency exchange rate?)

… for all of your group meeting needs, business or leisure.  (The most outlandish “need I’ve ever heard was a Flag Pole Need).

#1 For All Your Garage Needs (I need my garage cleaned out.)

After more than 35-years refining the craft of ad writing I know a bad ad when I see or hear one.
